What We Will Not Do
We don't touch garage doors as a side job to something else - no gutter work, no general handyman calls bundled in. If your door needs a full structural rebuild because the header or jamb has rotted out, that's carpentry work outside what we do, and we'll tell you so instead of taking the job anyway. We also won't quote a repair over the phone with no details - torsion spring sizing on the older doors common in this area (a lot of the housing stock here dates to the 1957-1999 range, with plenty built around 1978) varies enough that a wrong guess means a wrong part on the truck.
If your opener is a decades-old chain-drive unit and the circuit board is fried, sometimes replacing the opener costs less than sourcing a discontinued board - we'll say that plainly rather than stretch a repair past the point it makes sense. And we don't service areas outside the towns and neighborhoods we actually run trucks through.
How to Reach Us
Call 17344887364. We're based at 100 Phoenix Dr, Ann Arbor, MI 48108, and that's the address to use if you need to find us or send something by mail. There's no separate emergency line or after-hours desk beyond that same number - if it's after hours, leave a message and give us the make of your opener and whether the door is stuck open or stuck shut, since that changes what's on the truck when we head out.
What We Are Called Out For
Most calls are springs, cables, and openers. With winter here running cold and severe, cold snaps are hard on torsion springs that are already near the end of their cycle count - steel contracts, and a spring that had another season left in July can snap in January. We also see a lot of roller and track wear tied to the age of the local housing stock; doors from the 1960s and 70s stretch of construction were built with hardware nobody stocks new anymore, so repairs on those often mean sourcing older-style parts or recommending a swap to current hardware.
Openers are the other big category - sensor misalignment, worn drive gears, remotes that stop pairing. We work across the Ann Arbor neighborhoods - Burns Park, Angell, Old West Side, Northside, Bryant Pattengill East and West, Abbot, Wines, King, Haisley, Carpenter - and out to Saline, Dexter, Whitmore Lake, South Lyon, Belleville, Milan, Chelsea, Plymouth, Bridgewater, Pinckney, Northville, Wayne, Brighton, Manchester, Clinton, Romulus, Tecumseh, and Wixom.
Who You Are Dealing With
We're a garage door repair company working the Ann Arbor area, not a national chain with a call center routing your job to whoever's closest. When you call the number above, you're reaching the same operation that shows up at your address. We size jobs against what's actually on your house - a lot of homes in this service area were built between 1957 and 1999, median around 1978, which shapes what hardware we expect to find before we even open the panel.
The service area runs from the close-in neighborhoods a mile or two off downtown out to towns 15-20 miles out like Brighton and Tecumseh. We don't claim years in business or a headcount here - what matters is what we find on your door and what it takes to fix it right.
